Out of the Cradle · EP06
The Gold Rush
In the interstellar age, how might humanity fuel a starship? The Gold Rush imagines a frontier of resource extraction in the skies of Venus and Jupiter.
A new frontier of resources
The film follows deuterium extraction in the atmosphere of Venus and helium-3 extraction in the storms of Jupiter. Machines and settlements built for environments far beyond human limits connect these worlds to an imagined interplanetary economy.
The infrastructure behind the journey
From aerial mining settlements to vast magnetic vessels, Out of the Cradle EP06 explores the energy, ingenuity, and risks behind this vision. Its technologies, yields, and timelines belong to the film’s imagined future, presented in documentary form.
