Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of scienshell.com and access to our films. By using the service or buying a film, you agree to these terms and the Refund Policy. Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle personal data; accepting these terms is not consent to optional tracking.
Who provides the service
Scienshell, an independent film studio, operates this website and provides your film access under these terms.
Scienshell is the seller of the film access offered on this website and handles order support. Purchases are final. Existing purchases remain linked to the account used to buy them.
Free films and paid access
Out of the Cradle EP02–EP04 and the currently listed Cosmic Geographic films are free to watch without an account. EP01 is not currently available on this site. Free films do not require a paid purchase.
Paid access is offered in three ways. Each is a one-time payment in USD and does not renew. A single film is $2.99 and includes streaming access to that film only. The Out of the Cradle Season Pass is $42 and includes the paid episodes of that season, including paid episodes released after purchase. The Scienshell Life Pass is $369 and includes permanent streaming access to every paid Scienshell film, including paid films released after purchase. None of these purchases includes a download, and none is refundable. The offer, price, and included titles are shown again before you pay.
Your account
Sign in with Google or an email verification code to watch purchased films or post comments. Your first successful email verification creates an account if you do not already have one. Purchases are linked to your account; use the same verified email when returning or switching devices. Keep your email account secure and do not share sign-in codes. If you lose access, contact us with your purchase reference for help investigating your film access.
Payment and confirmation
Listed prices are in USD. The checkout page shows the total amount, any applicable taxes, and supported payment methods before you confirm payment. Scienshell remains responsible for delivering film access and handling order enquiries. Access is granted only after payment is confirmed. A closed or interrupted checkout does not necessarily mean the payment failed. Check your payment confirmation and Account before trying again.
Your purchased access remains linked to your account, subject to these terms. These are digital goods and are not refundable. If a payment is reversed, the access from that purchase is removed. See our Refund Policy.
Viewing and screening permissions
A paid purchase allows personal streaming on this site of the film, or of the films included in the pass, that you bought. It does not transfer copyright, permit redistribution, or by itself grant public screening rights. You may stream free films in a classroom or at an event. Contact us before screening a paid film to discuss permission. An institution should not use someone else’s personal sign-in credentials.
Films and intellectual property
Our films explore scientific ideas and possible futures in a documentary style. Speculative events and imagined worlds should not be understood as records of established facts. Rights in the films, branding, software, and other site materials remain with Scienshell or their respective rights holders.
Comments and acceptable use
Comments and live comments are visible to other viewers. Post only material you have the right to share, and avoid posting private information. Do not post unlawful content, harassment, spam, or material that infringes another person’s rights. We may remove content that violates these rules.
Do not use the service for fraud, distribute malware, disrupt the website, bypass access controls, or copy, record, download, or redistribute films without permission, except where permitted by applicable law.
Availability and help
We aim to provide reliable access, but playback, sign-in, and checkout may be interrupted by maintenance or technical problems. An internet connection and a compatible browser are required. Contact us if you cannot access a film you purchased. Our Refund Policy explains the available help and remedies; this section does not exclude rights you have under applicable consumer law.
Account restrictions
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address a material breach of these terms, fraud, a reversed payment, or a security incident. Contact us if you believe a restriction is mistaken so we can review it. Making a good-faith complaint or exercising a lawful payment-dispute right is not, by itself, a reason to close your account.
Changes and your rights
We may update these terms and show the revised date here. Changes to prices and new offers will be shown before purchase. An update does not retrospectively change the price you paid or remove rights already granted by your purchase. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or your use of the service, are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The courts of Hong Kong have jurisdiction over those disputes. This does not remove rights that cannot lawfully be excluded where you live.
