Who is responsible
Shenzhen Fermi Bose Network Technology Co., Ltd. is the controller for the personal data we collect about users of this site. Paddle is an independent controller for payment, tax, and invoice data when you buy a film. See also Paddle’s privacy policy and our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.
What we collect and why
If you sign in: Google subject, email, display name, and avatar URL, to create your account and attach purchases. If you buy a film: the title, time of purchase, and Paddle customer and transaction identifiers, to grant access and keep a ledger. We keep watch duration, playback position, and time on the site so we can operate Videos, including before you sign in, keyed to a first-party anonymous cookie. If you later sign in with Google in the same browser, that anonymous watch history is merged into your account. If you comment or send danmaku: the text, a timestamp, and the name shown on your account. Covers and video metadata are published by us.
Legal bases
We process account and purchase-access data to perform the contract with you. We process watch stats, security logs, and fraud checks for our legitimate interests in running and protecting the site. We process data where a law requires it, such as keeping invoice identifiers. Checkout cookies and payment data on Paddle’s side follow Paddle’s notice. Theme preference stays on your device.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data. We do not use your Google password. We do not keep card numbers; Paddle does. Invoices for paid purchases are issued by Paddle.
Who we share data with
Google (sign-in). Paddle as merchant of record (checkout, payments, tax, invoices, and related customer service). Stripe only if it is listed as a fallback processor. Amazon Web Services in North America (private masters and HLS, when paid films exist). Cloud hosting for this website. Professional advisers if needed. Authorities where required by law or to protect rights or safety.
International processing
Data may be processed in more than one country so we can operate the website, sign-in, file delivery, and payments. Sign-in and some film files use processors that include services in the United States. Payment data is processed by Paddle in the countries where Paddle operates. We use these processors only to run the service.
Cookies
Essential: a session cookie keeps you signed in; short-lived CloudFront cookies authorize paid files on our CDN. Functional: a first-party cookie (ss_aid) remembers watch stats for this browser for up to one year, including before you sign in. Theme preference stays in localStorage. We do not use marketing cookies. You can clear cookies in your browser; signing out ends the session cookie.
Retention and security
Account and payment ledger rows stay while the account can download invoices. Watch stats and comments stay while needed to operate the site. We use HTTPS, access controls, and least-privilege keys. You may ask us to delete comments, danmaku, and purchase rows; we may keep invoice identifiers required for accounting.
Your rights
You may ask for access, correction, deletion, or a copy of the data we hold, and you may object to processing that is based on legitimate interests. Email contact@scienshell.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. For payment data held by Paddle, contact Paddle or use paddle.net.
